The Navigation has been on this site since the 1700’s, although the current building dates from around 1850.
She is a grand old lady of the industrial revolution, who has watched over Castle Lock for over 170 years.
In October 2020 we (David and Jeanette Hill) came back to our Nottingham roots, after a 20 years “ up north”
We both know and love the Navigation, having spent much of our missspent youth in this and other local pubs.
We want to keep the Navigation as a real pub in the heart of the city, serving the local community and ensuring that this grand old lady continues to bring a little bit of happiness (and beer) to everyone who steps through the door.
We actively support the Canal and River Trust in helping to maintain and improve the wonderful Trent and Beeston Canal.
We hope to become a local hub for volunteers who have an interest in caring for the canal. Your interests could be in wildlife, maintenance of the locks, or just getting into the great outdoors for a bit of a tidy up and the opportunity of meeting new faces. Volunteering for the Canal and River Trust offers something for every one...
At The Navigation, our commitment to the local community in Nottingham is loyal. We take great pride in being dedicated representatives of Nottingham Street Aid, a cause that holds a special place in our hearts.
It's our mission to continually explore meaningful ways to connect, contribute and give back to the vibrant community we call home.
We serve breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Our food is cooked on site by our excellent kitchen staff.
We use fresh seasonal produce which is sourced from local suppliers where-ever possible.
If you have any special dietary requests, or wish to discuss a special event please email, phone or pop in. One of our team will be happy to chat to you.
we always try our very best to make your trip to the Navigation that extra bit special.
